Limestone
An important ingredient in manufacture of cement, limestone is a sedimentary rock mainly composed of calcium carbonate (CaCO3). It is formed through accumulation and compression of carbonate-rich organic debris including shells and corals in marine environments that hardened over time into limestone deposits.
Key ingredient in cement manufacturing
Aside from cement production, limestone application extends to agriculture as soil conditioner, water treatment, aggregates for construction, paint industry and other industries requiring lime (CaO).
